Food Justice Network

Book a Meeting at the Show

REQUEST A MEETING

The Food Justice Network was created at the height of the pandemic in 2020 by The Active Wellbeing Society to coordinate Birmingham's emergency food response. Today it includes more than 250 food banks, food pantries and community cafes across the city. Much of the food it delivers is surplus, donated by the public or supermarkets via the FareShare network. Then as now it delivers vital support to some of the city's most vulnerable citizens. In the face of soaring demand and spiralling costs, however, many FJN members are finding it increasingly difficult to stay open. For those at the cliff edge of the cost-of-living crisis, the consequences of closure could be disasterous. New sources of food and funding are ugently needed. With autumn now upon us, the call is going out to businesses across Birmingham and the West Midlands to step up and pledge their suppport. If you'd like to support FJN we'd love to hear from you.
